The nine members of the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors, are community leaders concerned with pediatric health and early education. 



 
 Bill Campbell Bill Campbell: Commission Chair
Bill Campbell was first elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Third District, in January 2003 with an overwhelming margin of victory, nearly 75 percent of the vote. After serving the remainder of a vacated term, he was elected to his first, full term in March 2004. The Third District includes the cities of Anaheim, Brea, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda, as well as the unincorporated areas of North Tustin, Orange Park Acres and Orange County’s canyon communities.  Sandra Barry Sandra Barry: Commission Vice Chair 
Mrs. Barry has worked in the Anaheim City School District (ACSD) for 11 years, seven as superintendent. She began her educational career in Orange County as a junior high English and French teacher and was quickly promoted to director of educational services, assistant superintendent, and then deputy superintendent. She served ACSD as a deputy superintendent before assuming the superintendency. MORE >>
 Kimberly Chavalas Cripe Kimberly Chavalas Cripe
An expert in children's health, Kimberly Cripe is also president and chief executive officer of Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Ms. Cripe joined the CHOC staff in 1991 and was named to head the hospital in 1997. Under her leadership, CHOC offers a number of healthcare programs that provide more than 60,000 well-child and urgent care visits each year to underserved children who might otherwise go without critical care.  Hugh Hewitt Hugh Hewitt
Hugh Hewitt's professional and volunteer credentials cover a wide spectrum. He has served as a member of the Irvine Public Schools Foundation, is a partner in the law firm of Hewitt & McGuire, LLP, and is an associate professor of law at Chapman Law School in the City of Orange. MORE >>
 Crystal Kochendorfer Crystal Kochendorfer
A children's advocate of many years, Crystal Kochendorfer was elected to the Capistrano Unified School District Board of Directors in 1988 and served as its president, vice president and clerk. She has also been a member and president of the Capistrano Laguna Beach Regional Occupational Program governing board. MORE >>
 Maria E. Minon Maria E. Minon, M.D.: Commission Chair Pro-tem
Dr. Maria Minon is a veteran of more than 20 years of private practice in general pediatrics and adolescent medicine. She serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a post she has held since 1998. MORE >>

Commissioner David Riley is the Director of the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), a complex and multi-faceted agency with 2,600 employees working in over 100 separate locations. MORE >>
 Sally Snyder Sally Snyder, R.N.
Commissioner Sally Snyder is a long-time healthcare professional who oversaw the Irvine Unified School District health program for 12 years and continues her relationship with the school district today as a health services consultant. MORE >>
